Brighton College Abu Dhabi is celebrating another year of outstanding GCSE results, with the top Grade 9 the most commonly awarded grade and more than half of all results at Grades 9-8, equivalent to A*.  

This year, pupils achieved exceptional outcomes: 30% of all GCSEs were awarded Grade 9, 54% at Grades 9-8, 72% of Grades 9-7, 87% at Grades 9-6, and 96% at Grades 9-5.   

Success was achieved across a wide range of subjects. Nearly three-quarters of grades in the separate sciences (Biology, Chemistry and Physics) were at Grades 8 or 9. In Further Mathematics, 91% of grades were 9-8, and in Geography, more than three-quarters of pupils achieved an 8 or 9. In addition, 13 pupils secured a full set of Grades 8 and 9 (equivalent to all A*).    

Two pupils achieved a clean sweep of Grade 9s, including:  

Vivasvan Kaushik:                          10 Grade 9s  

Aryaa Sahoo:                                  10 Grade 9s  

Other notable achievements include:  

Jongchan Lee:                                10 Grade 9s and 1 Grade 8

Nahed Bdewi:                                10 Grade 9s and 1 Grade 7

Utsaah Arpit Palan:                       9 Grade 9s and 2 Grade 8s

Kacia Huang:                                  9 Grade 9s and 1 Grade 8

Katelyn Huang:                              9 Grade 9s and 1 Grade 7

Commenting on these remarkable achievements, Barney Durrant, Head Master at Brighton College Abu Dhabi, said: “With 54% of all Brighton College Abu Dhabi grades being A* (8-9), our pupils can be incredibly proud of their achievements. Throughout the GCSE years, they showed high levels of dedication and commitment, and took great advantage of the support sessions, clinics and revision guidance that our staff provided. The College is delighted with their results and very much look forward to welcoming them back to begin their A Level studies next week.”
