It is not uncommon to arrive at school on a morning to see pupils training with their coaches, to observe a lesson later in the day and explore with the same pupil a complex metaphor or concept, and watch the same pupils performing a triumphant piece of music in an evening concert. In the Senior School, rich opportunities ensure that all pupils are inspired and compelled to venture beyond the curriculum to uncover their talents and passions.
Our teachers are experienced, dedicated and come to school each day to inspire pupils to achieve; they are passionate about their subjects, and how pupils learn in them. The curriculum is broad and balanced and the way pupils are invited to encounter new learning means they develop the ability to think and question deeply, and to make connections. Progress every day here, adds up to big results so that when the time comes for pupils to leave us and embark on their next steps beyond Brighton they are competitive and qualified.
Our aim for our pupils too is that they are not only qualified but equipped with the confidence and empathy to make a difference to the lives of others. As one pupil said in a speech to prospective parents: kindness is more than a word, it is a way of life here, and this above all else has to the measure of a community. If you would like to visit – and we very much hope that you will! – you will receive a warm welcome.

We know that outstanding teaching changes lives, and our results are testament to this. Our teachers are all specialists in their field and use their in-depth knowledge and passion for their subject to help our pupils develop a life-long love of learning.
Inspirational teachers transform lives, and at Brighton College Abu Dhabi we have them in abundance. Ask any pupil what makes our school special, and one of the first things they will say is "our amazing teachers". Their passion, commitment and kindness explain why Brighton College is one of the highest performing schools in the UAE.
A pupils move through the Senior School, they get to know their peers and develop enduring friendships, whilst trying their hand at a number of subjects to discover what sparks their interest. In Year 10, pupils have the opportunity to focus on the things they enjoy most, to develop deep levels of skill and understanding, and to take steps towards fulfilling their ambitions in life. Pupils take more responsibility for their progress, and greater independence will be encouraged as they build the foundations for their future study.
Each lesson provides support for learning, and pupils are guided by dedicated form tutors and Housemasters or Housemistresses. GCSE options subjects are chosen during Year 9, in conjunction with parents and based on pupils' passions and abilities.
Pupils in Year 9 pursue the Brighton College Diploma a yearlong experience which promotes and incentivises links between classroom and wider world learning so that pupils embark on their GCSEs in Year 10 understanding ways their studies can impact the world around them.
Our Careers Discovery Curriculum puts pupils from Year 7 in touch with experiences and encounters with the potential to inform and enlighten their possible future choices.
Through their own hard work, and the guidance and support of our dedicated teachers, our pupils achieve nationally outstanding results in their GCSEs each year.
In addition, each year, our pupils receive Pearson Outstanding Learner Awards, having been recognised for achieving the highest mark in both the UAE and the world at both GCSE and A Level in subjects including Mandarin, Geography and Product Design.
At Brighton College Abu Dhabi, we prepare pupils not just for exams but for life. Beyond traditional subjects, we teach essential study techniques, critical thinking and problem-solving skills to ensure academic success and career readiness.
At Brighton College Abu Dhabi, being a part of society means actively engaging in social responsibility and community service. Throughout the year, pupils collaborate with local charities and organisations, taking part in a variety of initiatives as part of our "Make a Difference Days." Often pupil-led, our entire community seeks ways to contribute positively to society—whether by raising money for important causes through bake sales, assisting with environmental projects, or organising desert clean-ups. Our pupils understand that there is a whole world beyond the classroom, and we encourage them to remember that they are a part of society, not apart from it.
In Senior School our pupils master the art of effective communication through our bespoke Presentation Skills courses. The programme teaches pupils how to craft impactful speeches, taking inspiration from history’s greatest orators. They learn to analyse iconic speeches, explore the power of language, and refine delivery techniques.
Pupils also practice posture, breathing, and voice modulation, gaining confidence and poise as public speakers. These lessons empower them to articulate their thoughts persuasively, preparing them to excel in school, university, and professional settings.
At Brighton College Abu Dhabi, we nurture leadership in every pupil. In Senior School, pupils can take on roles such as Head Boy, Head Girl, Prefects, House Captains and Ambassadors. These positions reflect our core values of kindness, curiosity and confidence while helping pupils develop responsibility and teamwork skills.
At Brighton College Abu Dhabi, learning extends far beyond the classroom. We offer a wide range of Clubs and Activities, from sports and arts to music and drama, providing pupils with opportunities to discover new passions and develop their talents. Outdoor education, field trips and community projects further enrich their experiences, encouraging teamwork, leadership and a sense of responsibility.
We believe in nurturing the whole child, helping pupils build confidence, resilience and social skills that will serve them well in all aspects of life.
The best way to experience what life is like at Brighton College is to join us at an Open Morning, where you will have the chance to talk to pupils and teachers about what makes our school such a special place, and to answer any questions you have about life here.
