A-level specifications in History provide a broad and coherent course of study for all pupils whether they progress to further study in the subject or not. There are no prior knowledge requirements for A-level specifications in History - indeed a pupil may choose A-level History without GCSE History!

Further Study: A-level History is an excellent qualification with which to gain access to university degree courses like Law, Journalism, Economics and Business, as well as all of the Arts and Humanities subjects. A surprising number of undergraduates on Finance, Management and Accountancy courses have also achieved an A-level in History. It sits well alongside a large number of other A-level choices, from Modern and Ancient Languages, English, Geography, the creative arts and even Mathematics and Sciences.

Exam Board: AQA

Course Requirements: Grade B in GCSE History and English
