Science

Science is largely ‘hands on’ and investigations are the basis for all topic work. Visits to school from local experts as well as trips out to places such as a hydroponics farm, the Royal Stables and Dino Live programme all play a part in enriching our curriculum and providing children with real life experiences that consolidate their learning. Science is about teamwork, communication, patience, creativity, research and presentation. It’s about having the knowledge, understanding and confidence to make decisions about what you do in life. In our lessons, there is an overriding emphasis on enquiry, engagement and enjoyment. Along with an acquisition of knowledge, we aim to develop the skills necessary to apply that knowledge to real life situations.
